My husband, Dale, my daughter, Alyssa and I moved to Whitewater Creek, from Ohio, in August 2006, which means as of August 2024 we have lived in WWC for 18 years. When we initially moved in, I asked the current HOA about the Social Committee as I was looking to join it in hopes of meeting our neighbors and was quickly told we didn’t have a Social Committee. That day, I formed the WWC Social Committee. We had our first Halloween event Fall 2006 and that event we still hold yearly (and it has continued to evolve to what it is today). We held an Easter Egg Hunt in my backyard the first year (Spring 2027) as our amenities center was condemned and the grounds were not available to host events. All of these events and more, that we planned/organized while on the Social Committee, have continued to evolve over the years into what we have today.
After leading the Social Committee for a couple of years, I made the decision to move to leading the Children’s Social Committee events and partnered with Harold Bost while he led the overall Social Committee. We did this for several years until I became more involved with my children’s school and needed to step away from the Social Committee. Over the years, I have served as the PTO President for all three of our feeder Schools (Braelinn, RSMS and SMHS) along with many different Board roles as well as a member of various committees. I also served as Room Mom for many years. During this time, I also taught college classes as Southern Crescent Technical College on a part-time basis for over 13 years while I continued to volunteer on various school and WWC committees. My daughter, Alyssa is currently a freshman in college and my son, Jacob, is a Junior at SMHS.
With my increased availability of “time,” I did make the decision to go back to work about 3.5 years ago working in my field of Human Resources and Recruiting and supporting Biotech Firms based in CA from a remote basis. My husband and I have enjoyed watching this neighborhood grow and develop. When we moved in, we may have been one of the youngest couples with the youngest child however over the years this has changed and we have so many more families with children living in WWC today. We love WWC and look forward to seeing how we continue to grow and develop and make this the best neighborhood in Fayette County!
Lara Dial has been a proud resident of WWC since 2008, where she and her husband have raised their three children, all now in their 20s. Currently, she continues her dedication to youth by mentoring students in Fayette County, providing guidance and encouragement as they navigate their futures.
Professionally, Lara brings over two decades of leadership experience as the Executive Vice President of a construction company, where she oversees operations with the same dedication and excellence she brings to all aspects of her life.
